The data needed to predict a pump failure or cut a building's energy bill is usually already being collected — it's sitting in a SCADA historian nobody queries. The hard part isn't the model, it's getting clean, correctly-tagged data out of a live control system without disturbing it, and knowing which signals actually mean something. That's a controls problem before it's a data-science one. Because we design and program the PLC and SCADA layer, we can instrument it properly at the source, and we can tell the difference between a genuine process anomaly and a sensor that always reads high on a cold start.
